A Splash of Color Today

   A Stronger Community Tomorrow

The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event is sponsored by the Blackburn Center located in Greensburg, PA.

During the Blackburn Center’s Walk a Mile In Her Shoes event in 2019, a team of Seton Hill University's Art students presented an interactive project called “A Splash of Color Today, A Stronger Community Tomorrow”.

During the walk at St. Clair Park, participants were invited to select paint brushes and spray bottles filled with paint that corresponded in color to their experience with gender-based violence.

Yellow- Advocate

Blue- Witness

Green- Supporter

Purple- Survivor

Each person who participated threw their color onto the canvas, creating a weaving of paint which shows the community’s experience with gender-based violence.
